Professor Laku Chidambaram

 

A brief bio:

  • Currently the Associate Dean of Academic Programs and Engagement in the  Michael F. Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma (since July 2014).

  • Am the W.P. Wood Professor of MIS (since July 2002) 

  • Received my Ph.D. (in information systems and international business) from Indiana University (in 1989) and an MBA from the University of Georgia (in 1985). 

  • Held tenured faculty appointments at Indiana University and the University of Hawaii.

  • Worked as a business consultant and lectured in several countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Singapore and the United States.  


Some professional highlights:

  • Fall 2013: Received "Best Conference Paper in IS Education" Award from the Association for Information Systems

  • Spring 2010: Voted the Harold E. Hackler Outstanding MBA Professor by students in the full-time MBA program

  • Fall 2005 - Summer 2014: Served as Director of the MIS Division (During my tenure, the MIS program was ranked four times in the Top 20 programs in the nation by US News & World Report )

  • Spring 2004: Received the Bruce Magoon Master Teacher Award

  • Spring 2003: Received the Bruce Magoon Award for Service Excellence

  • Fall 2001-'05: Served as the Executive Director of the Center for MIS Studies (CMISS), a partnership between businesses and academia

  • Spring 2001: Joined the MIS faculty at the Price College of Business
